Fall Loves !

So I’ve been hearing and reading about the Maybelline falsies mascara  hype from youtube and bloggers several months ago and now just recently decided to check it out.. (to be totally honest I haven’t been caring for/about make up products ever since the beginning of my summer courses back in June.) Anywho, prior to this mascara I’ve been using the Cover Girl’s Lash Blast. This (mascara CV lash blast) step was definitely not a ‘must do’ in my daily routine, it isn’t able to hold my Asian eye lashes up! But when I discovered the Maybelline it’s like amazing!!! It doesn’t flake, it holds my lashes, and increases length! It’s so great that it changed my mind about mascaras & actually felt the need for it lol.
Next, sweater dresses & scarves ohhhemgeee!!! I went shopping just this past weekend at Fairview mall and picked up some sweater dresses from urban planet. Personally, I am not a huge fan of urban planet’s quality... It’s somewhat similar or lower compared to forever 21. But I looked everywhere for affordable cute sweater dresses and urban planet just happened to be the place!! (Side note: H&M was awfully expensive $30~40 + little selection, F21 little selection + everything is so disorganized it just makes me want to leave the store :P) In addition to all that ..I don’t really know how to maintain my knit clothing therefore, after the season is over it’s pretty much all the wear I’m going to get out of it.
On to SCARVES! I splurged on a scarf from the store Dynamite it is a white & black patterned, with fringes on the ends. It rang up to $24 (The most I’ve spent on a scarf). For this season I’ve been looking for colorful scarves to spice up my outfits during the cold weather that aren’t short or small so I could recreate the bulky look. I’ve also picked up a scarf from Springs that is a knit material with ruffle detail super cute, can’t wait to show you guys in a future outfit of the day!
Me & Mini Me, trick-or-treating featuring the scarf from dynamite mentioned above. (It goes so well with the black leather jacket!)

Rompers & Jumpsuits

Since last summer, rompers had resurfaced the fashion industry.. but this summer it has really exploded. Personally rompers are not my thing. Why?
Pros:
Cute (Florals, Tribal), Easy to throw on, Conservative (This is debateable.)
Cons:
That awkward moment when you have to take off your shirt to use the bathroom!!

I've recently (in the month of June) picked up a romper from La Senza to sleep in and really dislike the whole concept. For example, imagine your family members walking in on you while your using the toliet, completely naked! None the less I'll be sticking with dresses and of course shorts and cute tops :) Anywhos, I KNOW again I've been MIA but here are some blog post to look forward to in the next few days:
-Loose Button Luxe Box JULY edition ( &Reviews on JUNE's box)
-Summer favorites
-OOTD
-NOTW
See you all soon !

Everything is coming to an end...

It's been a little over a year since I've purchase the Biore pore unclogging scrub and I just recently hit the last couple of uses of this product. In general I really enjoyed this product throughout this whole year during the summer time, I've used this twice a day and during the winter/fall/spring, once every night.

Price: $7-11 CND
Scent: Honeydew like.
Texture: gel/foam type with mini micro beads

Now onto non-beauty related things...
Recently I've been having a hard time managing my time and literally procrastinating way to much, it's really something that I've adapted to since highschool so I guess it's considered chronic procrastination. I guess I'll admit it here.. I NEED HELP . On a lighter note for people who reside in Canada, about the Canada Post strike.. how are we suspose to receive mail and bills?!?! I definately don't want to be charged any interest for not paying them on time so if you know please let me know.
Lastly... QUACK.QUACK. wait do geese.. quack?

Light Lunch for One.

So.... lately I've been having these light lunches or sometimes brunch/linner. I think since it's the summer time I've been just completely lazy or nicely put it "under a time crunch" and rather spend time doing other things than cook than clean you know the whole process...

You get what you've paid for.

A couple of weeks ago I was browsing for an inexpensive trendy bag that I could carry around for the summer time. So I stumbled upon this website called: wholesale-dress.net, they sell things like clothes, bags, accessories and other miscellaneous. Their prices are fantastic, most items were around $5. To me thats a bit sketchy.. so I read some reviews and they were usually 50/50. Regardless of what people had said I placed an order, and was really disappointed.
REASONS:
1. You are not receiving what is being advertised. For example: (LEFT: what was being advertised, RIGHT: what I received)

2. Very very low quality. (Buttons are falling off, things are ripped.)
3. Shipping would either take to long (3months minimum) or very expensive (at least $40. I've paid $80 for my package)
4. Slow update on website. (After placing the order I received emails notifying me that some items are out of stock and I would be receiving a credit on their website, which then really upset me because I didn't want to pay more shipping so I had to ask customer service to refund my money WASTE OF TIME & definitely a language barrier)
5. Their one size fit all clothing can range from XXS to XXL.

Despite all my rage towards this website there is ONE item that I really like which was a belt. But it can't justify spending so much money and time.
If any of my readers have any online websites they really love please recommend them to me, I love online shopping & haven't given up all hopes yet.
Cheers, Deborah

HAUL:Buffalo Trip & Cherry Culture :)

This post is long over due, here is my mini purchase from my buffalo trip!
Ann Taylor $12 Each. (This was on their clearance which was 50% off already marked down items)
The first shirt is a long loose shirt that can be button up to a 3/4 sleeve shirt. The grey shirt on the right has a sewed on brooch. It's very fitting I thought this would a semi formal nice to tuck into a skirt or something :)

Ann Taylor $19 (Again this was on clearance! Would never have bought it for $40bucks!) I bought this thinking it would be something formal again to tuck into a skirt for the summer time there's cute pearl beads in the middle ruffles which I thought was a nice extra touch.
Forever 21 Cardigan $19.80 , Forever 21 Cold shoulder tee $14.80
The cardigan has cute buttons that look like its from a school uniform, it has nice bold stripes I thought it would be good to throw over when it gets chilly or just to wear in the fall.
Cold shoulder tee on. Simple and laid back for one of those lazy summer days.
$4.80 ELEPHANTS!!!
$40 LOVE THISSSS!!! When I went back to Canada I saw these at Steve Madden for $139!!! and they were exactly the same but in black. The one at Charlotte Russe also comes in black and suede.

Cherry Culture
I purchased this when they were having the NYX 50% off. LOVED everything that came not so much the freebie lip balm but it was free so whatever :P

NYX cream blushes :) Very super pigmented a little goes a LONG way this is what they look like blended out a bit. No glitter, nice sheen, very dewy looking.

NYX powder blush Natural :  I think this has become my favourite blush of all time. Looks really good over NYX cream blush in Glow or my lioele blush in 01.
Milanai Mai-Tai: I don't own a orangey coral blush so this is such a change really like this as well
NYX powder blush Terra Cotta: Not the biggest fan of this actually quite shimmery but it goes well with NYX cream blush in Tea rose. Bronzy tan look :P

NYX Mega Shine Beige & Natural: Very pigmented.
NYX round lipstick in Pumpkin Pie: The swatch above is quite heavy but if applied 1 coat its quite sheer and I actually quite like it :P
NYX lip liner Natural: a tad darker than my natural lips (but I do have quite pigmented rosy lips)

Overall, I'm super happy with all my purchases!! And sorry if my clothing haul is probably really boring since the clothes I bought were just like "grown up" attire and all that. (even though I don't work and is in school)

Cheers deb.

Travel Guide: Buffalo Shopping!!!

Hey everyone! So it was my first time going to Buffalo for shopping which is a quite famous shopping spot to go to if you are Canadian. First off, the tax there is only 4%!!! (Compared to Ontario tax at 13% which is amazing). Yup, I think that justify going there. From the Scarborough area to Buffalo will take about 2.5hrs to 3hrs depending on traffic.
Any who, I went to two malls the Fashion Outlets which is located 5 minutes after you cross the boarder and the Walden Galleria which is located 15-20minutes from Fashion Outlets.
Side note; Definitely pick up some Tim Hortons while your in the States, they are much bigger LOL!

Fashion Outlets
If your looking for deals and actual bargains this is the place to go. Almost everything is at a discounted price!! Although keep in mind, not everything is up to trend (probably last season) but the things aren't outdated, old, ripped or anything and also they have trendy pieces too so don't fret. The food court is really crappy though (4 places to eat real meals? bleh).

Walden Galleria
This mall is basically your typically mall, think Fairview, Eatons, etc. No discounts really, mostly everything regular price unless the stores is doing their own promotion. Most stores are huge with a wide selection! But stores like JC Penney, Macy's, Forever 21 are even BIGGER! (And H&M coming soon). Personally I wasn't intrigued by any of the stores but Forever 21, so definitely check out the list of stores on their website to determine if it's worth the drive for you.

This travel guide is targeted towards Canadian shoppers but of course anyone can benefit :)!
What to bring:
-Passport
-American Cash (It would save time if you have it already, instead of making pit stops at the currency exchange stations which are located before you cross the broader)
-$1 for tolls if you are planning to go to Walden Galleria.

What NOT to bring:
-Expensive Jewelery (In case you get checked they may ask you to pay taxes)

What to expect at the US customs:
-Passport check
-What are you doing in the US?
-Where are you going?
-How long are you planning to stay?

What to expect at the Canadian customs:
-Passport check
-How long were you gone for?
-What did you do?
-How much did you spend?
-Did you bring back any alcohol or tobacco?

Two Tips to Prolong your Manicure

I often enjoy doing my nails weekly but recently I've been swamped with finals! (Side note: my manicures usually consist of base coat, 2 coats of the polish and a top coat. Super time consuming!! Also this mani last at least a week without chipping) So if you are like me busy or simply don't enjoy painting your nails to often I've got some tips for you to make them last longer (Minimum 2 weeks)!

TIP 1: When the nail starts to chip, simply "trim" the tips of your nails and there you go chip free fresh mani :) also reapply your topcoat after you do so.

Tired of the same color?
TIP 2 (Best with solid polish colors): Again, file away chip nails or retouch on chipped areas (it doesn't have to be even) Then, on top simply apply your favorite glitter polish, shatter polish, or crackle polish! This definitely changes the appearance of the polish from what you had on last week!

Hope everyone is doing well :)
Cheers Deborah.

NOTW

As you can tell by now I love doing my nails every week :P sometimes I forget to post, but I rest assure you they are a different color. This week I painted them For Audrey by China Glaze, very over-hyped color but its really pretty! On my ring finger, I was attempting on drawing a flower with the new nail art brush that I've purchased recently but it didn't go so well..  Anywho, if you have any nail polishes that you would recommend please leave them in the comments below!! I would love to try it out.
(What I'm currently looking into are Essie nail polishes, I don't own any yet! D: )

Happy Easter :)

Necklace Dilemmas

Last Friday I went to my local mall to pick up a new pair of work pants and realized they had open a new Ardene store. I usually don’t care for shops like Ardene and Clarie’s, but it has been a while since I’ve rummaged through one. I ended up buying 3 necklaces, 2 for myself and one for my mom (3 for $10 deal).
This necklace was suspose to be double chained but it already broke. So I took off the second chain :(. Now the single chain looks bare.

I didn't realize this would be such an awkward length but I guess it's my fault. (Its not short or long like a pendant also it's a weird medium sized bird) Don't really know what to do with it now.

Any suggestions?
Deborahs.

Everything came packaged nicely, with bubble wrap and tons of peanuts, the shipping was quite fast considering it was from overseas (my E.L.F. purchase took longer!!) Eye love to conceal - REVIEWS

Hey everyone, it's been a busy week but I'm back on track ! This mass review will be on concealers! Personally, the one make up item that I must have on is probably something to cover my dark circles and I'm good to go. **Warning text & picture heavy**

Review from left -> right :)
Product: e.l.f. Studio Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter [light/glow] (5g/17oz)
Bought from: www.eyeslipsface.com
Price: $3
Pros: Easy to apply, very liquidity, and it contains no scent what so ever.
Cons: The coverage on this concealer is rather sheer, if you try to build up the product it will definitely look cakey. This product settles in your fine lines in about 5minutes after application, and the lasting power is only for 3-4hrs.
Thoughts: Would NOT recommend it. For the highlighter on the other side, I don't really care for ( it just comes out clear with glitter).

Product: Smashbox High definition concealer [fair] (0.27fl.oz./8ml)
Bought from: Sephora
Price: $18
Pros: Medium coverage, lasts 7-8hrs
Cons: Smells bad, since the product is in a liquid form it leaks in the cap and around the tube hole which wastes a lot of product.
Thoughts: Not moisturizing enough for under the eyes, but as a spot concealer it’s okay.

Product: Garnier Skin Renew anti-dark circle roller [sheer tint] (15ml)
Bought from: Shoppers drug-mart
Price: $16.79
Pros: light weight, not drying under the eyes, 8hrs lasting power, and has a nice cooling effect.
Cons: Haven’t seen any reduction of the darkness under my eyes, sheer coverage
Thoughts: This product is very easy to use and blend in, I like using this product on a daily bases going to school and running errands. After the product has been placed under the eyes it dries to sort of a matte finish but not drying. As for repurchase, maybe only if I see results if not I want to try the original green tube :p.

Product: Conceal FX Camouflage concealer [light] (15ml/0.5fl oz)
Bought from: Shoppers drug-mart
Price: $27
Pros: Heavy coverage, long lasting 8hrs +
Cons: SMELLS REALLY BAD, like Chinese herbs or something really gross. It claims to be water proof but since I have watery eyes, when water touches the concealer it turns into a milky substance which is NOT GOOD. Quite thick, not light weight as it claims to be.
Thoughts: I would not repurchase this ever again.
Product: e.l.f. tone correcting concealer [light beige]
Bought from: www.eyeslipsface.com
Price: $1
Pros: Light- medium coverage, easy to apply, very creamy and moisturizing
Cons: Has an orange scent which is very weird, but you don’t smell it after 5minutes or so,
Thoughts: I have used this product for a good 10-11 months and used in total of 4 tubes. The only reason for that is because it’s very affordable and I don't find it drying under the eye area.
Product: Olay regenerist eye touch of concealer eye regenerating cream (7ml)
Bought from: I don’t know my mom got it for me
Price: unknown
Pros: hydrating, easy to blend
Cons: not long lasting only 2-3hrs, I believe there is only 1 shade and it’s a bit dark but I do enjoy using it during the summer time, a bit sheer
Thoughts: It’s an alright
Product: Maybelline Dream mousse concealer [Ivory Light 2-3,5] (3g)
Bought from: Shoppers drug-mart
Price: $6
Pros: Medium ~ Heavy coverage, applies smoothly, perfect for blemishes.
Cons: Not recommended for dry skin. its drying.
Thoughts: I like this product for the summer time since my under eyes isn’t super dry like in the winter. This product unfortunately is discontinued.

Last but not least just so you guys can get an idea how dark my under eye circles are and how these products work on me here is a picture of my eyes :D
Hopefully you ladies found this helpful!! Also please tell me your favorite concealer so I can check it out :D
Cheers Deb.

4.Revlon cream shadow in seashell -creases on the lid, colors very sheer
5.L'oreal Bare Naturale -smells horrible, and it drys weird.

Tuesday Splurge

Shopping is definitely one of my guilty pleasure, aside from eating delicious unhealthy food of course :). So, I stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart one of my all time favorite stores and bought two things on my wish-list and a impulse purchase (Darn, sales lady).

Garnier Eye Roller (In sheer tint) $16.79
I’ve been wanting this product for so long but never got around purchasing it due to the price any who I finally OWN it :).

Vichy Normaderm Set $29.95
I’d thought I’ll give this trio a try since my Biore cleanser was running low and I’ve read many positive reviews it seems like a miracle worker.

Cover FX Concealer  (In light) $27.00
The beauty counter lady somehow talked me into purchasing this product.. but my initial reaction was love. Hopefully I won’t regret it later.

I would like to say this shopping trip was quite a success, but it did hurt my wallet quite a bit. Since when it comes to shopping I’m always out on the look out for bargains. Have you guys tried any of these products? or know of any cheaper alternatives?

Cheers Deb
